Drunk Driving Accident Statistics

More than 10,000 people per year are killed because of drunk driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. About 20% of all car accident fatalities can be attributed to drug or alcohol usage.

Car accidents annually injure 30,000 individuals in California and claim the lives of 2,000. One of the most common causes is drunk driving. If the driver is an elderly person or if the car is expensive, a conviction for drunk driving might have devastating financial consequences.

As a result of impaired judgment, slower reaction times, and less control of their vehicles, drunk drivers represent a greater risk to other motorists on the road. Everyone has a responsibility to avoid putting themselves in dangerous situations on purpose.

When an accident is caused by drunk driving, the victims never deserve the blame that comes along with their injuries. Before signing anything or giving any interviews, please consult an attorney. If you or someone you love has been hurt in an accident caused by a drunk driver, your first step should be to consult a lawyer with experience with such matters.
