Fatal Drunk Driving Accident Statistics

Over ten thousand lives are lost annually due to drunk driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. About 20% of fatal car accidents involve substance addiction.

Around 2,000 people are killed and 30,000 are injured in car accidents in California every year. One of the main causes is drunk driving. The financial consequences of a DUI conviction can be devastating.

Due to impaired judgment, slower reaction times, and less control of their vehicles, drunk drivers present a greater risk to other motorists. Every person has an obligation to avoid putting themselves in dangerous situations on purpose.

The stigma commonly attached to the wounds of victims of drunk driving incidents is unjustified. Consult an attorney before making any final decisions or giving any interviews. If you or a loved one has been injured in an accident caused by a drunk driver, you should see an attorney who has experience with such cases.
