According to the NHTSA, around 30 Americans die each day due to drunk driving accidents. Drunk driving accounts for approximately 29 percent of all traffic-related deaths in the United States. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 60% of these drivers have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above the legal limit.
When drivers are intoxicated, they are far more likely to be involved in automobile accidents that result in catastrophic injuries—driving while drunk increases the danger of irresponsible or reckless behavior.
