[12-30-2023] San Diego County, CA – 60-Year-Old Woman Killed, Male Passenger Hospitalized After Single-Vehicle Crash on I-805 in Chula Vista

A 60-year-old woman was killed and her male passenger was hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash in Chula Vista on Saturday morning, December 30, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at around 10:00 a.m. on southbound Interstate 805.

A gray Nissan Xterra was driven off the bridge onto East Naples Street after the woman lost control of the vehicle and collided with a concrete wall.

The driver was declared dead at the scene, while the male passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

There is no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved.  Authorities are gathering all the necessary information, and no further details have been released as investigations are ongoing.
