[04-17-2020] Alameda, CA – 2 People Dead After a Fatal Car Crash on Highway 680

Two unidentified Oakland locals died after a fatal two-vehicle crash in Pleasanton on Friday morning, April 17th. 

According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 2:16 a.m. on southbound Highway 680, just north of Bernal Ave. 

A 1996 Lexus sedan was traveling on the highway when all of a sudden, it rear-ended a trailer-truck. Due to the severity of the impact, the Lexus eventually slammed into the center divided and hit the right shoulder of the road. The driver of the Lexus was ejected from his car. Both of the occupants of the Lexus did not secure themselves with seatbelts at the time of the accident. 

The Lexus driver, along with his passenger, died at the scene. No other injuries were recorded.
