[07-29-2020] Alameda County, CA – One Killed in a Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Oakland

A 50-year-old man identified as Christopher Jones was killed due to a fatal motorcycle crash in Oakland on Wednesday night, July 29.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s initial reports, the deadly crash occurred at around 11:17 p.m. The victim was riding a Yamaha motorcycle when a Honda Accord suddenly struck him on the eastbound lanes of Highway 24 just west of Highway 13 near the Caldecott Tunnel.

The reason why the accident occurred is currently unclear. The victim was thrown on to the roadway due to the severity of the impact. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda Accord remained at the scene and cooperated with local authorities. Police do not consider drugs or alcohol as a factor in the deadly crash.
