Two unidentified people were injured due to a multi-vehicle traffic collision involving a big rig in Fremont on Thursday morning, November 12.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s initial reports, the accident occurred at approximately 7:38 a.m. on Interstate Highway 680 in Fremont.
A pickup truck made an unsafe lane change, which caused a chain-reaction. At least four vehicles, including a big rig and a dump truck, were involved in the accident.
Due to the severity of the impact, the dump truck spilled sand onto the freeway’s southbound lanes.
At least two people were hurt in the accident. They were taken to an area hospital to receive treatment for their minor injuries.
Multi-Vehicle Collision Investigation is Underway
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the case. They will attempt to determine the factors that affected the crash.
When three or more cars collide on the roadway, it is considered a multi-vehicle collision. This type of car accident is commonly caused by a “chain reaction,” when one car bumps into another, which causes the other to hit the next vehicle.
Multi-vehicle collisions are commonly caused by drunk driving, speeding, and distracted driving. It can be quite challenging to pinpoint liability during a multi-vehicle collision investigation, which is why it is essential to hire an experienced Alameda County personal injury attorney to conduct an independent investigation.
Attorneys can re-interview important witnesses, review relevant surveillance footage from the scene, and obtain the responsible party’s phone and texting records.
