Two high school graduates were killed after a deadly head-on collision in Truckee on Tuesday afternoon, May 25th. They were identified as 20-year-old Ross S. and 19-year-old Dixie L.

[05-25-2021] Alameda County, CA - Two People Killed After a Head-On Collision in TruckeeDixie is the daughter of the famed Berkeley author and financial journalist Michael L. The deadly accident occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Highway 89 at Cabin Creek Road in Truckee.

A 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Schultz was heading northbound on Highway 89 when, for unclear reasons, the Ford Fusion veered over the double yellow lines and went into the opposite lanes. The Ford Fusion then collided head-on with a southbound Freightliner truck.

Schultz, along with his passenger Lewis were both killed as a result of the crash. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Both of them were student-athletes. Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the collision. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
