My name is Judd Allen. I am a senior trial attorney here at Arash Law. I became an injury attorney because I worked for a very large insurance company for over 12 years. And during those 12 years, I saw insurance companies systematically take advantage of injured people. What is UM or UIM insurance?

A lot of people have questions about what UM or UIM insurance is, and it’s really quite simple. It’s insurance that you get yourself through your own carrier, and the purpose of it is if you get in a car accident and somebody else is involved, but that person says – doesn’t have insurance or doesn’t have very much insurance. Your own insurance company can cover you for the loss so let’s say the person that hits you only has fifteen thousand dollars of insurance, but you have a hundred thousand dollar UIM policy.

At Arash Law, we’ll make sure that we get the fifteen thousand dollars from the other party and the eighty-five thousand dollars that make up the remainder of your hundred thousand dollar UIM policy.
