[07-17-2020] Butte County, CA – Cyclist Hurt After a Bicycle Accident in Chico

A bicyclist sustained significant injuries after getting struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Chico on Friday morning, July 17.

According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. The victim was riding his bicycle through eastbound 9th and Broadway Streets when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle.

The reason why the collision occurred is currently unclear. The bicyclist sustained severe injuries and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital to be treated. The identity of the victim has not been released.
