California has some of the busiest and most congested highways in the country. In 2017, there were over 3,304 fatal car accidents in California.

According to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report, more than 100 traffic crashes were reported in San Ramon in 2020, resulting in at least two deaths. Human error is the leading cause of the majority of these car accidents.
