[10-06-2020] El Dorado County, CA – Major Pedestrian Accident in Diamond Springs Severely Injures One

One unidentified pedestrian sustained major injuries after getting struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Diamond Springs on Tuesday afternoon, October 6.

The major collision transpired at approximately 3:00 p.m. at Quick Stop Convenience Store. The pedestrian was struck by a passing vehicle at Pleasant Valley Road and Fowler Lane in Diamond Springs.

How the collision occurred, and the reason why it happened is currently unclear. It is unknown whether the pedestrian was walking on a marked crosswalk or not at the collision time.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and found the victim lying on the roadway. The victim’s injuries were so severe that emergency personnel requested a helicopter. The victim was airlifted by a Cal Star 3 helicopter to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. The suspect’s vehicle was towed away from the scene.
