A 33-year-old man identified as Felipe G. was killed after a deadly multi-vehicle traffic collision near Ashlan Avenue on Saturday morning, August 14.

[08-14-2021] Fresno County, CA - One Person Killed After a Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99According to the initial reports from local authorities, the crash took place on Highway 99 near Ashlan Avenue at approximately 8:15 a.m. Garay was driving a Honda Civic on the southbound lanes of Highway 99 when he collided with a Caltrans sweeper that was cleaning the center median.

After the initial collision, the Civic spun out of control and veered into the other lane, where it collided with a big rig and a 2014 Thomas school bus. The school bus did not have any children inside at the time of the accident. The Honda Civic driver was seriously injured from the mishap.

He was rushed to Community Regional Center, where he was, unfortunately, later pronounced dead. It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the accident.
