An unidentified 62-year-old man was killed after getting struck by a passing vehicle in Parlier on Tuesday night, May 18.

Officers found the victim lying on the roadway with serious injuries. Despite the life-saving measures performed by the emergency crews, the man succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities suspect that the man may have been walking in the middle of the street and not on a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.

The driver that struck the victim remained at the scene and cooperated with local authorities. Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the accident.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
