[01-02-2021] Fresno County, CA – One Person Killed, Another Injured After a Pedestrian Crash on Highway 41

One person was killed while another was left seriously hurt after a major pedestrian crash on Highway 41 on Saturday night, January 2.

The deadly accident transpired at approximately 10:56 p.m. on 41 Freeway at Friant Road off-ramp. An unidentified pedestrian was reportedly hit by two vehicles on the freeway’s northbound lanes.

How the accident occurred, and the reason why it happened is currently unclear. A concerned civilian pulled over onto the center divider to assist the victim but was also struck by another vehicle after attempting to help.

The pedestrian was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. The concerned civilian sustained significant injuries from the crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities suspect that the driver of the second vehicle may have attempted to avoid the first accident before hitting the pedestrian. Additional information about the crash is unavailable at the moment.
