[04-22-2020] Kern, CA – Old Man Dead After a 2-Vehicle Crash in Bakersfield

A 67-year-old man from Arvin was killed while eight others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Bakersfield on Tuesday morning, April 21st.

According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 5:41 a.m. at South Fairfax Road and East Bear Mountain Boulevard.

A 2007 Dodge Caliber was driving southbound on Fairfax Road when the driver made a left turn onto Highway 223. The Dodge Caliber struck a 2002 Chevy heading westbound on Bear Mountain Blvd.

The driver of the Dodge Caliber was unable to see the Chevy and slammed into its right side. The Chevy attempted to swerve left to avoid the collision but was still hit on its right side. The Chevy overturned but eventually came to a rest on the east shoulder of the road.

The three occupants of the Dodge Caliber were also injured. All of the victims were immediately taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries.
