[06-26-2020] Kern County, CA – One Person Killed in a Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision in McFarland

One person was killed due to a fatal two-vehicle traffic collision in McFarland on Friday morning, June 26th.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the two-vehicle traffic collision occurred at around 3:30 a.m. A BMW headed westbound on Sherwood avenue while a Dodge Ram pickup was traveling northbound on Highway 43.

The BMW driver failed to avoid the pickup, and the two vehicles collided with each other head-on on the roadway. The BMW driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection before entering, the reason he did is unclear. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver was uninjured. Additional details about the accident are limited at the moment.
