[10-02-2021] Kern County, CA – Pedestrian Killed In Fatal Hit-And-Run Accident In Bakersfield

A 56-year-old woman identified as Donna C. was killed after a fatal pedestrian accident on Saturday night, October 2.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the fatal crash transpired after 10:50 p.m.at South Union Avenue, south of Pacheco Road.

Czechan was struck while walking outside the crosswalk, and the driver of the car fled the scene.

The suspect’s car is a black sedan that was last seen driving north on Union Avenue.

It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in this occurrence. The accident is still being investigated.

In California, pedestrian fatalities rose 26.0 percent from 709 in 2014 to 893 in 2018.
