[12-02-2020] Los Angeles, CA – Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Long Beach Kills One Pedestrian

A 32-year-old man identified as Jackson Allender was killed after getting struck by a hit-and-run driver in Long Beach on Wednesday night, December 2.

The fatal accident transpired at around 7:15 p.m. near Pacific Coast Highway and Lewis Avenue.

A 2003 Mercury sedan traveling eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway crashed into a parked vehicle before hitting Allender, who was trying to cross the street.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercury sedan did not stop to render aid and drove away. Authorities were able to later locate and identify the hit-and-run driver.

He was identified as 30-year-old Joshua Lemusu. He was booked into custody on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI, and hit-and-run causing bodily injuries, with his bail set at $100,000.
