[12-04-2020] Los Angeles, CA – Hit-and-Run Scooter Accident in Boyle Heights Injures One Man

An unidentified older man on a scooter was seriously hurt after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Boyle Heights on Friday morning, December 4. 

The accident transpired at approximately 10:35 a.m on Mott Street at Whittier Boulevard in Boyle Heights. 

The older man was attempting to cross the street using his electric scooter when a compact SUV suddenly hit him. The SUV dragged the pedestrian for half a block before the driver stopped. A witness helped remove the scooter from the vehicle while the SUV was parked.

After the scooter was freed, the involved driver fled the scene. Police suspect that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was a Mazda CX-5. The older man sustained severe injuries from the crash. He was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
