[08-27-2020] Los Angeles, CA – Motorcyclist Killed After Colliding with a Semi-Truck in Santa Fe Springs

A collision between a motorcycle and a semi-truck in Santa Fe Springs resulted in a motorcyclist’s death on Thursday afternoon, August 27.

The fatal traffic collision took place on Imperial Highway, just east of Shoemaker Avenue, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Both the motorcycle and the semi-truck traveled westbound on Imperial Highway, coming towards a red light at Shoemaker Avenue. The motorcyclist was riding between the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes of the Imperial Highway when the motorcycle and the semi-truck stopped. The motorcyclist then started to push his motorcycle between the semi-truck and another vehicle.

After attempting to squeeze himself in, the motorcyclist then fell near the semi’s trailer’s rear wheel. When the light turned green, the semi-truck started moving and ran over the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist received life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and cooperated with local authorities.
