[10-08-2020] Los Angeles, CA – One Person Injured, and One Dead After a Wrong-Way Car Crash in Hollywood

A 33-year-old Newbury Park resident identified as Clayton Chiapuzio sustained major injuries after a wrong-way driver struck his car in Hollywood on Thursday morning, October 8.

The wrong-way collision occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Highway 101 near Hollywood Boulevard. Chiapuzio was driving his Subaru northbound on the freeway when a black 2008 BMW that was heading southbound suddenly struck his vehicle.

The reason why the wrong-way collision occurred and the factors that may have caused it have not been established at the moment. The BMW driver was killed in the collision. The identity of the BMW driver has not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, the Subaru driver sustained serious injuries from the crash. He was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
