[08-01-2020] Los Angeles, CA – One Person Killed in a Two-Vehicle Crash in Lancaster

A 25-year-old man identified as Steve H. Gonzales was killed after a fatal car crash in Lancaster on Saturday afternoon, August 1.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s initial reports, the fatal crash happened at around 3:20 p.m. on West Avenue D near 45th Street West. Gonzales was driving a 2017 Honda Civic heading eastbound along the westbound lanes of Avenue D when he suddenly crashed into a 2009 International Pro Star.

It is unclear why Gonzales was driving in the wrong direction. The driver of the Pro Star was identified as a 68-year-old man named Alson R. Hall. Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene. Gonzales’ passenger, Gabriella Itovargas, was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

It is unknown whether the Pro Star driver sustained any injuries from the accident.
