Two women were killed while two others were injured after a two-vehicle traffic collision in Long Beach on Monday morning, August 16.

[08-16-2021] Los Angeles County, CA - Two People Killed, Two Others Hurt After a Major Two-Vehicle Crash in Long BeachThe fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and 21st Street in Long Beach at around 1:40 a.m. A Toyota Camry and a Honda Civic collided at the intersection for unclear reasons.

The circumstances leading up to the accident have not been established. A 19-year-old woman identified as Catrina Carrillo R. was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, another person identified as 23-year-old Frances R., died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Two occupants inside the Honda Civic were both rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.  They’re expected to recover from their injuries. Both vehicles reportedly sustained major damage from the crash.

One of the involved parties had to be extricated from the wreckage.  The case is currently under further investigation.
