[05-04-2021] Los Angeles County, CA – One Person Killed After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision in Hawthorne

An unidentified person was fatally wounded after a deadly two-vehicle traffic collision in Hawthorne on Tuesday morning, May 4.

The collision transpired at approximately 3:00 a.m. on 405 Freeway near El Segundo Boulevard.

A Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro collided on the roadway under unclear circumstances. How the collision occurred and the reasons why it happened has not been established.

Both of the vehicles were turned on their sides due to the severity of the impact. One person sustained fatal injuries as a result of the mishap. The identity of the deceased party has not been disclosed.

The 405 Freeway was closed down for several hours to give way for the cleanup and the investigation. Information about the mishap is limited at the moment. The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the case.
