Two people were killed after a fiery speeding-related car crash in Palmdale on early Wednesday morning, June 9th.

The Dodge then slammed into a light pole after crashing into the Toyota.

Due to the severity of the impact, the Toyota caught fire. Both the passenger and the driver of the Toyota were killed in the crash. One of the deceased victims was identified as Spechelle Pope. She was riding the Toyota as a ride-share passenger and was on her way home from buying groceries.

The Dodge driver abandoned his vehicle and jumped into a dark blue Infiniti, fleeing from the scene. Authorities are actively pursuing the hit-and-run driver. They are also trying to determine whether street-racing was a factor in the accident.
