A woman was killed after a crash on a Sunday morning in the outskirts of downtown Los Angeles, October 3.

Initially, there was a single-car collision, leaving a vehicle disabled in the traffic lanes. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

A second eastbound vehicle, a 2006 BMW 328i, hit the disabled vehicle moments later.

The driver of the BMW, a 51-year-old man from El Monte, was sent to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center with grave injuries as a result of the impact.

His passenger, a Baldwin Park woman, was transferred to the same hospital and died as a result of her injuries.
