[04-27-2020] Madera, CA – Man Dead After a Traffic Collision in Oakhurst

A 74-year-old man identified as Alain Gerard was killed in a fatal traffic collision in Oakhurst on Monday morning, April 27th.

According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 9 a.m. on Highway 41. The older man was driving his Nissan pickup northbound on Highway 41 when he suddenly experienced a medical episode, which caused him to lose control.

The victim’s pickup drifted into the opposite lane and collided with a commercial dump truck heading southbound. Gerard died at the scene. Gerard’s wife, who was his passenger at the time of the accident, was rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for her minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
