[07-26-2021] Madera County, CA – One Killed, Another Injured After a Two-Vehicle Collision on Avenue 15

An unidentified woman was killed while another person was injured after a two-vehicle traffic collision near Road 12 on Monday night, July 26.

[07-26-2021] Madera County, CA - One Killed, Another Injured After a Two-Vehicle Collision on Avenue 15According to the initial reports from local authorities, the deadly crash took place on Avenue 15 near Road 12 at approximately 9:15 p.m. A Hyundai Elantra was heading westbound on the eastbound lanes for unclear reasons. The Hyundai then collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck.

The Chevrolet initially swerved in an attempt to avoid the Hyundai, but the driver was unsuccessful. The female driver of the Hyundai Elantra was fatally wounded in the mishap. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male Chevrolet pickup truck driver sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the accident.
