One person was killed while another person was injured after a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 59 and Sandy Mash Road on Saturday night, October 16.

A sedan was initially traveling north on the freeway when it crossed into the southbound lanes for unclear reasons and collided head-on with an oncoming pickup truck,

The pickup truck driver was immediately taken to an area hospital in an unknown condition. Unfortunately, the sedan driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities suspect that speed may have been a factor in the accident. The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the case.
