[07-11-2021] Merced County, CA – One Person Killed After a Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Los Banos

An unidentified man was killed after a deadly pedestrian accident in Los Banos on Sunday night, July 11.

The accident transpired at approximately 11:00 p.m. in the area of Pacheco and Badger Flat Road in Los Banos. The victim was walking on Pacheco and Badger Flat road when a passing vehicle suddenly struck him. The victim was walking towards his parked truck.

It is unclear what caused the driver to hit the man. The driver remained at the scene and willingly cooperated with local authorities. Officers and emergency personnel later arrived at the scene and performed CPR on the victim.  Unfortunately, the victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Information about the accident is limited at the moment. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed. Local authorities are actively investigating the case. They will attempt to determine the cause and the liability.
