Motorcyclist Dies After Colliding with Truck on West Leland Road (7-5-19)

California Motorcyclist Killed in a Truck Crash 

PITTSBURG, Cal., July 8, 2019 – At about 6:20 a.m. on July 5, 2019, a 36-year-old motorcyclist crashed into a truck in Pittsburg, California. The crash happened near the intersection of Southwood Drive and West Leland Road. The truck was traveling north and turning onto West Leland Road while the motorcyclist was heading east. 

Authorities arrived at the scene of the accident and emergency medical personnel pronounced the motorcycle rider dead at the scene. The truck driver was not transported to the hospital and cooperated with authorities. The police stated they did not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision, though they have not yet released a cause for the crash, and the investigation is ongoing. If the accident was the truck driver’s fault, the family of the deceased motorcyclist may have the right to file a claim for wrongful death to seek compensation for their losses.
