A 52-year-old man identified as Eric Bernard J. was killed after a fatal bicycle accident in American Canyon on early Friday morning, May 7.

The bicyclist was riding in the slow northbound lane of Highway 29 when he was suddenly struck by a minivan.

The victim was reportedly riding a bike without lights and was wearing dark clothing, which can make him harder to spot on the roadway.

Sadly, the victim was killed as a result of the crash. Additional details about the accident are unavailable at the moment.

Local authorities are currently conducting an investigation.
