One person was killed while two others were hurt after a two-vehicle traffic collision near Calistoga on Monday morning, March 15.

[03-15-2021] Napa County, CA - One Person Killed, Two Injured After A Fatal Traffic Collision Near CalistogaThe deadly collision transpired at approximately 10:10 a.m. on State Highway 29, southeast of Calistoga.

A southbound 2015 Subaru on SR-29 just south of Larkmead Lane when, for unclear reasons, the driver suddenly veered into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a 1997 Infiniti.

The 62-year-old driver of the 1997 Infiniti was killed in the accident. While his female passenger suffered from major injuries and was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The identities of the victims have not been disclosed at the moment.

The driver of the Subaru 2015 was later identified as 30-year-old Philip P., He sustained major injuries and was treated at an area hospital.

Authorities later determined that the Subaru 2015 driver was driving while under the influence. After he was treated, the suspect was placed under arrest on suspicion of felony DUI-drugs, causing injuries. The case is currently under further investigation.
