One person was killed while two others were injured after a deadly head-on collision at Rincon Way on Sunday afternoon, September 26.

[09-26-2021] Nevada County, CA - One Person Killed, Two Others Injured After a Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 49The fatal crash took place on State Highway 49 at Rincon Way, just north of Auburn, at approximately 12:40 p.m. A Honda Accord was traveling southbound on State Highway 49 when the driver crossed over the double yellow lines and veered into the opposite lanes, where he collided head-on with an oncoming Volkswagen SUV.

The Volkswagen SUV driver sustained moderate injuries in the mishap. Unfortunately, her passenger was unable to survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Honda Accord driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed. Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the accident. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
