A waste management employee identified as Michael Jodoin was killed in a fatal DUI accident in Nevada county on Monday morning, August 3.

The Dodge Charger driver was driving erratically before the accident. The vehicle fled the scene. The victim was immediately transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital but was sadly later pronounced dead.

Officers later located the suspect three miles away when she called for a private tow. She was identified as Amy Hannan, a 47-year-old woman from Grass Valley. Officers determined that the suspect was under the influence at the time of the accident. The suspect was arrested on charges of DUI causing significant bodily injury, felony hit-and-run causing death or injury, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
