[07-14-2020] Orange County, CA – Bicyclist Killed After a Fatal Hit and Run Accident in Huntington Beach

An unidentified male bicyclist was killed after his bicycle was struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Huntington Beach on early Tuesday morning, July 14.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the fatal bicycle accident occurred at around 12:25 a.m. The bicyclist was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Sunrise Drive. The driver that hit the bicyclist fled the scene. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the bicyclist unresponsive on the roadway. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the bicyclist has not been disclosed. But he was later located and arrested by the authorities. The hit-and-run driver was identified as a 46-year-old man named Joe Alfred Valdivia.
