[05-21-2021] Orange County, CA – Two People Arrested After a Freeway Shooting on Freeway 55 That Killed a Six-Year-Old Boy

Local authorities finally arrested the two suspects that committed a road rage shooting on 55 Freeway that resulted in the death of an innocent 6-year-old kid last month.

The two suspects were identified as 24-year-old Marcus Anthony E., and 23-year-old Wynne L. The six-year-old victim, who was identified as Aiden L., was riding in the backseat of their Chevrolet Sonic with his mother. He was on his way to kindergarten in Yorba Linda when the shooting incident occurred.

The couple was riding a white Volkswagen station wagon. It seems the shooting was triggered by a road rage incident over an unsafe lane change. Authorities suspect that the female suspect may have been driving while the male suspect was the one that opened fire at the Chevrolet Sonic.

The young boy was immediately taken to a Children’s Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Aiden was pronounced dead at six years old. The two suspects fled from the scene. The search for the killer couple lasted for two weeks.

Authorities were able to later locate and arrest the suspects outside their Costa Mesa apartment on Sunday night. Authorities were also able to recover the vehicle and the weapon used in the incident. The suspects are charged with murder and are being held on $1 million bails each.

According to the data collected by the Insurance Information Institute (iii), almost 80% of drivers admitted to significant anger, aggression, or road rage within the last 30 days while driving in 2019.
