Two unidentified people were injured after a two-vehicle traffic collision in Fountain Valley on Sunday morning, October 4.

A 2017 Nissan Pathfinder was initially hedging westbound on Slater when the driver ran a red light at the intersection. The Nissan then later crashed into a northbound Fountain Valley police cruiser on Magnolia Street. The driver of the Nissan was identified as a 37-year-old Buena Park resident.

Both the police officer in the cruiser and the Nissan driver sustained minor injuries resulting from the crash; they were taken to an area hospital to receive treatment. The factors that caused the collision to occur is currently unclear.
