Fatal Motorcycle Accident Investigation is Underway
Local authorities are currently investigating the case. They will attempt to determine the cause of the accident.
According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data, motorcycle riders are 16 times more at risk of injury and 35 times more at risk of facing fatal crashes than a passenger of a private vehicle. Motorcycle riders are more vulnerable to the dangers on the road than a passenger of a private car. Motorcycle riders are also at risk of sustaining fatal injuries that could lead to paralysis and death.
Some of the common factors why motorcycle accidents occur are distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving, bad weather, wrong-way driving, and failure to observe traffic laws. All riders are required by law (in most states) to wear a helmet and are encouraged to dress appropriately during their motorcycles. It is proven that helmets are 37% effective in preventing motorcycle deaths.
