Two people were killed in a fatal two-vehicle traffic collision at an intersection in Perris on Monday morning, July 13.
According to the initial reports from local authorities, the deadly accident transpired at around 11:45 a.m. Two unspecified vehicles collided at the intersection of Harley Knox Boulevard and Patterson Avenue, just east of Interstate 215. One of the vehicles was allegedly speeding before the collision.
Due to the severity of the impact, one of the cars caught fire. One person was pinned inside the burning vehicle, and emergency crews attempted to extricate the victim. The trapped victim and another motorist were sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The fire was contained and did not spread outside the area.
