A 17-year-old boy was killed after a fatal collision in Moreno Valley on Wednesday afternoon, May 26.

[05-26-2021] Riverside County, CA - Teenage Boy Killed After a Fatal Car Crash in Moreno ValleyThe accident occurred near the intersection of Day Street and Bay Avenue in Moreno Valley at around 3:09 p.m. The teenage boy reportedly drove a Ford Edge through the intersection when an eastbound Toyota Corolla suddenly struck his vehicle.

Due to the severity of the impact, the Ford veered off the roadway and crashed into a nearby residential fence. Authorities believe that the Toyota driver may have run a stop sign at the intersection.

The teenage boy sustained life-threatening injuries from the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver was taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries.

It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. Local authorities are further investigating the case. Witnesses that can give more information about the crash are urged to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 951-486-8206.
