[06-02-2020] San Benito, CA – 2 People Dead After a Fatal Head-On Collision in Gilroy

Two drivers were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Gilroy on Tuesday morning, June 2nd.

According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened at around 8:05 a.m. CHP officers received a report about an accident on Frazier Lake Road. A 2015 Nissan Altima and a 2005 Nissan Frontier were involved. The Altima was traveling southbound on Frazier Lake Road when it suddenly veered off the right side of the roadway and struck the guardrail of a small bridge over an irrigation ditch.

The Altima then later drifted left and got directed into the northbound lane, where it collided head-on with 2005 Nissan Frontier. Both of the drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Both of the drivers were alone in their vehicles at the time of the accident. The names of the drivers have not been disclosed.

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the fatal collision. Intoxication was believed to be a factor in the deadly accident.
