[05-03-2020] San Bernardino, CA – One Person Seriously Hurt After a Four-Vehicle Accident in Landers

A 52-year-old man identified as Michael Riddle sustained severe injuries after a four-vehicle accident in Old Woman Springs Road in Landers on Sunday, May 3rd.

According to the initial reports from the local authorities, the accident was caused by a 27-year-old Las Vegas resident identified as Kenneth Brown. The suspect was driving his Hyundai Elantra southbound on Highway 247 when he attempted to pass two vehicles: a GMC Sonoma and a Ford Ranger.

The GMC Sonoda slowed down before taking a left turn onto Reche Road as the driver waited for a northbound Ford Edge to clear the intersection. The suspect suddenly accelerated at high speed to pass the GMC Sonoma and Ford Ranger in the northbound lanes, which caused the four-way car crash.

One passenger from the GMC Sonoma had to be airlifted to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs due to the severity of his injuries.

Both the drivers of the Ford Edge and GMC Sonoma sustained minor injuries from the crash. The passengers from both vehicles also sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
