Fatal Head-On Collision

A head-on accident occurs when two cars strike immediately while going in opposite directions. Even at low speeds, these collisions can result in severe injuries and even death.

Although head-on collisions account for only 2% of all accidents, they account for 10% of all fatalities on U.S. highways. Drivers who are distracted or tired are more likely to be involved in a head-on accident.

Although head-on collisions are less prevalent than other types of car accidents, statistics show that they are the most deadly of all crashes. According to the NHTSA, more than 390 traffic collisions occurred in Hesperia in 2020, killing 20 people.

Human error is the leading cause of the majority of these car accidents. Distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving, adverse weather, wrong-way driving, and refusal to obey traffic regulations are all examples of dangerous driving behaviors.

Car Accident Attorney for Victims in San Bernardino County

Head-on collisions can result in severe injuries. Unfortunately, not all victims will survive a head-on collision. Surviving family members of a fatal head-on collision can sue the irresponsible motorist for wrongful death.

In California, surviving spouses can also sue for loss of consortium. The term “loss of consortium” refers to the emotional losses that occur due to a spouse’s premature death. It deals with the grief brought on by the loss of closeness, comfort, love, and even sexual interactions.

In addition, a wrongful death lawsuit in a car accident can help pay for the high medical bills and other expenses incurred as a result of the event. It can also assist those who have lost their income due to an injury or unexpected death.
