One unidentified pedestrian was killed after a deadly hit-and-run crash at Rialto Avenue on Sunday night, October 3rd.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 10:41 p.m at the area of Rialto Avenue and Waterman Avenue. 

The car was pursued south on Waterman and onto the westbound 10 Freeway and stopped on the 10 near Euclid Avenue in Ontario by the California Highway Patrol. 

The driver, later identified as 25-year-old Diego C. was given a sobriety test by San Bernardino police, which he allegedly failed.

Investigators announced Cachua was apprehended early Monday, Oct. 4, after fleeing a drunken-driving crash that killed a pedestrian.

According to the Coroner’s Office, the pedestrian passed away at Loma Linda University Medical Center at 2:17 a.m. Monday. 

Cachua was detained on suspicion of driving while inebriated and killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run accident. Cachua was being held at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino without bail.
