[09-27-2020] San Bernardino County, CA – Teenager in Critical Condition After Colliding with a Tractor-Trailer in Victorville

An unidentified 18-year-old man sustained major injuries after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on a freeway in Victorville on Sunday night, September 27.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s initial reports, the crash occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. in the southbound lane of 15 Freeway between Roy Rogers and Mojave Drive. An 18-year-old boy drove a 1999 Ford Ranger on the southbound I-15 Freeway when he suddenly made an unsafe lane change and collided head-on into a tractor-trailer combination.

Due to the severity of the impact, the Ford Ranger rolled over and landed on its side on the freeway’s right shoulder. The teen had to be extricated by emergency personnel from his vehicle. He was then airlifted by a Reach Helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The teenager is in critical condition. The operator of the tractor-trailer was uninjured from the crash.

Two-vehicle Collision Investigation is Underway
