A 78-year-old man identified as Timothy Wayne M. was killed after a deadly traffic collision in San Ysidro on Saturday morning, October 30.
The crash happened on State Route 905 near Beyer Boulevard in San Ysidro at approximately 6:43 a.m. A truck towing a boat was initially traveling westbound on State Route 905 when it hit a bump on the freeway, which caused the tow hitch to detach.
The driver and his passenger then pulled over and exited the vehicle to reattach the hitch. Unfortunately, a Honda CRV failed to see the stopped vehicle as it blocked his lane. The driver of a Honda CRV plowed into the back of a fishing boat, killing the passenger.
The passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear whether other people were injured in the mishap. The accident is currently under further investigation. No arrests have been made at the moment.

The warm, sunny beaches of San Diego draw a large number of visitors. Our beautiful beaches and year-round sunshine keep our burgeoning tourism industry alive. San Diego’s attractions, including Little Italy, the Gaslamp Quarter, and others, draw visitors inland from the beach to explore the city more thoroughly.
However, due to all of this, traffic in and around San Diego is highly congested. As the volume of traffic increases, so does the risk of a collision. Locals in San Diego are familiar with the crowded sections of Interstate 5, which runs north from downtown near the airport through La Jolla and up the coast.
In 2020, more than 10900 traffic collisions were reported in San Diego by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), resulting in the death of at least 272 people. Traffic collisions caused by human error are on the rise, according to the figures. Distracted driving, speeding, driving under the influence, reckless driving, driving in bad weather, driving the wrong way, and failing to obey traffic laws are all examples of reckless driving.
San Diego County Fatal Car Accident Lawyers for Victims
Your legal rights are at stake when you are involved in a fatal car accident. Later on, whatever you say to the other driver or bystanders could be used against you in your wrongful death case. This is why it is critical to seek legal counsel as soon as possible after leaving the scene of the accident and consulting with a doctor.
While your claim is pending, a lawyer will advise you on the best way to protect your right to compensation. The insurance company for the defendant is not on your side. Their claims adjusters are trained to pay as minor on the fewest number of claims as possible. Never let the insurance company of the other driver tell you that your claim isn’t worth much.
Don’t let the adjuster tell you that you won’t win at trial or that you caused the accident. This discussion is intended to provide legal advice regarding your personal injury claim. You should only follow the advice of your lawyer, who is on your side.
