At least two people were killed while two others were injured after a small plane crashed into a densely populated neighborhood in Southern California on Monday, October 11.

The plane was reportedly set to land at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport when it nosedived into the ground.

When the aircraft was half-mile away from the runway, an air traffic controller warned the pilot that the plane was flying too low. It’s unclear what caused the plane to descend into the neighborhood. The plane then crashed near a school.

Officials confirmed that no students were harmed in the crash. Unfortunately, two people were killed as a result of the mishap. A UPS driver and an Arizona physician were killed in the accident.

Two other people were injured in the accident. A retired couple was reportedly rescued from their burning home as a result of the crash. The condition of the retired couple has not been disclosed. Two houses were destroyed as a result of the mishap.

The plane that crashed was a twin-engine Cessna C340. It’s unclear whether there were injured passengers in the mishap. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the case.
