Three people were hurt after a traffic crash involving an alleged DUI driver in Chula Vista on Wednesday night, September 1st.

[09-01-2021] San Diego County, CA - Three People Injured After a DUI Crash in Chula VistaThe accident happened at approximately 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and G Sreet in Chula Vista. An unspecified vehicle reportedly ran a red light at the intersection and struck another vehicle. The vehicle continued to drive before smashing into a local sports bar called “the Manhattan.”

The driver of the second vehicle and two people inside the bar sustained minor injuries in the mishap. They were treated at the scene by paramedics. The driver of the first vehicle left her vehicle and fought with the bystanders in front of the bar. Authorities later determined that she was under the influence at the time of the accident.

The drunk driver was then arrested and booked into custody on suspicion of DUI. Local authorities are further investigating the case. Witnesses that can give more information about the accident are urged to call the Chula Vista police at (619) 691-5151.
